FORCE PEOPLE TO CONSUME YOUR ARGUMENTS

I had a realisation the other day that hit me like a ton of bricks.

The biggest problem I have as a business owner - and you probably have too if you're a business owner - is getting people to actually watch your stuff.

Think about it.

Everyone's making content everywhere.

Literally EVERYWHERE.

And if I write a newsletter l like this one you're reading right now, nobody HAS to read it.

Most people would have clicked away by now if this were a video.

You make a value-packed YouTube video full of knowledge and insights?

I don't have to watch it. I don't care how pretty your thumbnail is or how optimised your title is.

There is simply no reason for anybody to consume what you're saying because they can always "watch it later" (we both know they never will) or they can watch someone else's content instead.

The brutal truth is that in today's content-saturated world, there's no urgency to consume anything.

But - and it's a big but - I think I've found the answer.

There is a way to get people to act, watch your stuff, and give them a compelling reason to KEEP watching it.

The solution is almost embarrassingly simple:

You tell everyone: "Be at this place at this time and I'm going to show you how to do whatever it is that you want to show them how to do."

This isn't some groundbreaking new marketing mechanism I've invented. It's just a live webinar.

But it's not just a live webinar...

It's the only reliable way in modern digital marketing to create forced consumption - to get people to actually pay attention and consume the content you're trying to get them to consume.

Think about it - when someone commits to showing up at a specific time, they've already made a micro-commitment.

They've mentally blocked off that time.

They've decided your content is worth prioritising over the infinite other options competing for their attention.

And once they're there, live with you, the psychological dynamics completely change.

They feel connected.

They feel present.

They feel like they're part of something happening right now that they can't pause and "come back to later."

Once you've created this environment of focused attention, you make an offer to everyone.

They're happy, you're happy, everyone's happy.

Now, this might sound simple, but it's actually quite complicated to execute effectively.

The right timing, the right promotion, the right presentation structure, the right engagement tactics, the right offer - all of these elements need to align.
