I would rather hold a wall sit for 3 hours than write on Twitter or LinkedIn. I chose to write about marketing and life stuff on here instead.
There is a dangerous trap I find myself in sometimes, and you probably find yourself in it as well. The Dreaded 'Tactic Trap'. When your brain goes looking for what you could be 'optimising', or when you dive deep into the new 'unique mechanism' that people are spouting on the internet. You go looking for these things because you feel you are missing out on something. Like there is some big fix that will come from implementing a new automation, or introducing a new supplement. Tactics aren't terrible, but fundamentals are better. Fundamentals get overlooked when you go looking for tactics, but when dialled in, give a better lift than any tactic will ever give. Fundamental Examples In Life:
No magic supplement or routine will save you if these things are not in place. Fundamental Examples In Business:
No magic automation or sales script will save you if these things are not in place. How To Find The Fundamentals: In any area, there are 3-5 things that, when dialled in, account for 80% of the results you get. Looking for tactics and overcomplicating things is almost always a sign that the core 3-5 things aren't nailed down. So when you find yourself trying to over-optimise, grab a pen and paper and force yourself to operationalise the topic down to 3-5 key areas. Ask yourself if you are nailing all of those consistently. If not, start there. Subtraction is often more powerful than addition. At least, I have found this to be true of myself whenever I go wandering off looking for new tactics to increase show-up rates for a client's webinar or some bs. To your success, Charlie McCormack
