I would rather hold a wall sit for 3 hours than write on Twitter or LinkedIn. I chose to write about marketing and life stuff on here instead.
Oppenheimer is one of the best films that has been released in recent times. I love this section in the film because, like algebra, marketing must be heard, not read. Grab a coffee, dunk a biscuit of choice in it, and enjoy as I tell you a little story from this week. It's Not About The Ingredients, It's About The ChefLuckily for me, I have been blessed to build a great and powerful network during my time in business thus far. I have some friends who have run up MULTIPLE 6 & 7-figure info product businesses and software companies. On Monday, they came to me and asked me to take a look at one of their webinar presentations to see if I had any feedback on how it could be improved. I expected that everything would be relatively dialled in as they have been running this webinar every two weeks for a while now. Clearly, it has been converting at an acceptable standard. On the surface, they had all the right ingredients of a great webinar.
But as I went through the slides and watched the recording, it just didn't hit that sweet spot. It didn't have that WOW factor that you need webinars to have in order to convert. There was no clear use of any established webinar framework, and the guru (the presenter) seemed to rely on memory a lot of the time for his arguments as opposed to having all the material on the slides. It reminded me of my early copywriting days. I thought I was writing the most amazing copy in the world because I was working within a framework like AIDA or PAS. You have the ingredients there, but you need to be able to cook. I spent a couple of hours taking notes on what can be improved and I made an offer to them. "I will write you a new presentation, and if I don't beat your control in 3 split tests, I will give you a full refund" Now, I am confident I will be able to do it in one but it did get me thinking. There is a lot of people out here right now running webinars, potentially even yourself. If you already have a webinar that you are running but that isn't hitting that sweet spot you want it to, I will extend the same offer to you. I will also be documenting my changes in this webinar presentation for a YT vid, so stay tuned. To your success, Charlie McCormack
